Marriage tip: yesterday I was feeling utterly stressed about money and work, but instead of dooming and glooming my wife suggested I try and guess her least favourite Christmas song.

This is a story designed to appeal to grumpy Dads. St Louis armed robber identified by the designer underwear visible in surveillance footage. Should have spent the takings on a BELT: www.yahoo.com/news/article...
Man wearing same underwear during alleged robbery leads to arrest: Police
A St. Louis man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly robbed a Dave’s Hot Chicken in Chesterfield, Missouri, over the weekend.

2 x chats with Jewish friends today about how actions of Israel, rise of antisemitism online and attacks yesterday make them uncomfortable for the first time about being openly Jewish. From a data standpoint, antisemitism is still rare. But let's shout our love to Jewish friends and neighbours.

I love this on Trump's overwhelming unpopularity with Americans. A useful perspective for business owners deciding whether or not to bend the knee:

A lot of people just don’t realize how unpopular Trump is
The backlash to ABC/Disney canceling Kimmel shows why it's important for businesses and the public to understand that two-thirds of Americans are not Trump voters

Imagine flying around the world, shadowing the US President for four days of diplomacy, getting screened and accepted for a press conference in front of the eyes of the world, and when you get the chance to ask your question, coming out with

"Mr President, is there any update on the autopen?"

I love London so much. So much.

Did you know that London has the lowest level of ethnic violence of any city of comparable size in the world?

Multiculturalism has in fact worked here. They just don’t want it to be true because we happen to have a Muslim mayor.
In London, hate will never win.

I'm in a science humour group on Facebook. Someone posted a table of how different exposures of radioactivity compare, eg sitting near a banana vs an X-ray, along with a joke. Lots of us added jokes. I added a joke. A man came along in the comments to explain radioactivity to me.

Catching up after holidays - this is the best thing I have read on Generative AI and where it will end up in a long time. Don't believe the hype - these tools are impressive, but you should not entrust them with strategic or creative leadership. Or even complicated maths.
Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

Three years in, one of AI’s enduring impacts is to make people feel like they’re losing it.

Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesn’t use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

Gaza is starving. Where are the American Jewish leaders?
A fear of being labelled antisemitic still deters American Jews and Jewish institutions from taking a position that is morally correct.
