Absolutely not joking when I say this text is a foundational piece of Modern Britain
If you’ve been lucky enough to have never seen Corned Beef of my Childhood, your luck has just run out. And don’t think you’ve escaped, ALT text users, you’re getting it too.

This is a good essay about how and why the current attitudes towards AI espoused by many people on here are fundamentally unhelpful and self-defeating, and why failure to engage with the actual technology rather than an 'idea' of it cedes ground to the right: www.transformernews.ai/p/the-left-i...
The left is missing out on AI
As a movement, it has largely refused to engage seriously with AI, ceding debate about a threat and opportunity to the right

When I did work experience at BBC Radio Manchester I was convinced all the journalists were on coke due to the very conspicuous razorblades they kept on their desks
When I was a student radio reporter we still used reel to reel machines to produce our material - to select a quote or section of the recording, you had to use a razor blade to cut the tape. Then you stuck it all together.

Here's the full comic, from January 2, 2000. It was the last strip that featured Peppermint Patty, arguably Peanuts greatest character. Schulz died six weeks after it was published. It's perfection.
