Every time someone’s like “put that in the louvre,” my head now goes “and then steal it from the louvre, the security password is louvre”

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Sometimes I get my groceries delivered. Walmart charges like $6, which is well worth it on $150 of groceries. For $80 of groceries, not so much, but if I'm busy enough, I'll do it. However, when you agree to pay $6 delivery on an $80 order, and then $30 worth of stuff is "out of stock"...

Me when I have a bad year in the NFL pool: most games are close and rest on thin margins, there's tons of randomness involved, picking between two good teams or two bad teams is very difficult

Me when I have a good year in the NFL pool: hm, I wonder why I'm so much better than all these dumb-dumbs

Im finally emotionally okay enough to speak of the heartbreaking irony of thr Jays having a better pythagorean World Series but ultimately losing, the exact thing thr Yankees whined about all season

Moved the couch to clean under it and was fucking horrified for a second, thinking these were mouse turds and we had a HORRIFIC infestation, until I realized its the little rubber pelts from the turf at my so s school. It would seem he sometimes sits on the couch to take his shoes on/off. UNTIL NOW

My reach is about to be significantly diminished
BlueSky is automatically hiding posts with cuss words in them.
You may want to adjust your settings:
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

replace "posing as" with a comma and we're good
This really hasn’t gotten enough attention this week.

I never thought the words "I think the pope deserves a little more respect than that" would ever assemble themselves in that particular order in my mind, but here we are

Mamdani has reaffirmed the tiny little bit of me that still has hope America isn't completely fucked. His win is a piece of evidence for the case to be made that American politics can be driven by compassion, competence, and good ideas, rather than evil billionaires that spend their way to power
"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

This is for a politician. I don't know if I've ever experienced this in my lifetime. Obama might've been close.
This person took this when they called the race

I'll say this. That series cured me of the jealousy of Shoehi going to LA. Sure, it sucked how it went down, I'll always be a LITTLE salty about it, and sure it would've been cool for me to be able to watch him do what he does in a jays uni. But *he* did not beat us...not in 6 of the 7 games anyway

Zohran's best quality is that he wants to do the job he is canvassing to get, rather than simply have the title and the perks that come with it. Only a person who actually wants to govern NYC would listen to a question about greater political ambitions and say "uh, i dunno, who cares?"
CNN: Hakeem Jeffries was asked this morning if you're the future of the democratic party. He said no.

ZOHRAN MAMDANI: Good to know.

CNN: Do you have a response?

MAMDANI: No. I'm focused on the next two days.

1. No they wont
2. Exododus
Ok so now tell me how many of those projected million are actually gonna show up and vote
November 3, 2025 at 6:41 PM
On the one hand, "how the hell can only 61% of Americans believe he's overreaching his authority, and how can ONLY 57% think he's gone too far with deportations" and those are fair questions, but understand that in the context of American political polls those are pretty big numbers.
Trump’s approval rating hit a new low—37%—while 63% now disapprove of his presidency.

A majority of Americans say he’s abusing power: 61% believe he’s overreached with executive authority, and 57% say his deportation campaign has gone too far.

The backlash is building 💪

I'm an anti-leaf guy, but the fun of leaf-hating has waned over the past decade. If the Jays run has taught me anything, it's that I think in a hypothetical Leafs cup finals appearance, I'd probably get swept up and find rooting against them too difficult to performatively maintain.

Perhaps this is the year to reignite my Red Wings fandom. They've been knocking on the playoff's door for a couple years now.
13 games in and the Red Wings have 3 of the top-30 forwards in the NHL in Net Rating (model by @domluszczyszyn.bsky.social, values from @hockeystatcards.com)

8. Dylan Larkin + 3.7
18. Alex DeBrincat +2.8
26. Lucas Raymond +2.5
