Biggest issue these last 6 periods is the Wings DZ coverage. Wings F’s are pressing the points hard, creating a lot of space in the high slot that CAR and now TOR are utilizing to their advantage

For a moment after the Wings made it 3-2, it felt like Seider was going to will this game to OT as he started to take over.
Unfortunately the Wings were just outclassed and overmatched the first 40 minutes. They did well to make it more competitive in the 3rd but that’s all the good from this one

- Carolina’s blown the lead in the 3rd period their last couple of games

The Canes have their A+ game tonight. The forecheck is relentless and suffocating. There’s no room in the neutral zone. Their breakouts are quick and effortless. In the offensive zone they are moving without the puck so well it’s causing problems for the Wings’ man-zone scheme

Jacob Bernard-Docker played just under 10 minutes (9:39) that period on just 6 shifts. Got caught out there for shifts of 2:09, 1:40, and 3:10.
Wings as a whole weren’t hard enough on the puck that period but the 3rd pair was particularly brutal
