Please respect charlie kirk's legacy.
Don't show empathy for his fate
Charlie KIrk believed that empathy was a "new concept" that shouldn't exist, so anyone who expresses condolences for him is being VERY disrespectful to his beliefs right now. please keep him out of your thoughts as he begins his transition into worm food. thank you

They’ll drag Charlie getting shot to death for years but everyone forgot about the Hortman’s being shot to death in THEIR OWN HOMES already
Whether or not you support political violence won’t change where we’ve come to, nor where we’ve been for some time in this country. I am quite taken aback by how many people only invoke the term ‘political violence’ when it happens to a person with power. It’s political violence the other way too.

I still can't believe that for who knows how long, the Democrats have almost exclusively used unforced GOP errors like this as fodder for more "the middleman gets a 98% cut" email fundraiser campaigns.

4 million people work in higher ed, the largest employer in 10 states, second largest employer in 10 more, and in 60 of the 100 biggest cities

demolishing higher education is economic sabotage
It's important to note here that we're not just talking about faculty & university staff. 100s of U.S. colleges are in towns or small cities where they form the major industry & lifeblood of the community. Loss of students -> loss of rent $, restaurant $, bars, bookstores, gaming stores...
The US could see a 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment, resulting in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer American jobs. https://www.nafsa.org/fall-2025-international-student-enrollment-outlook-and-economic-impact

Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.
Hey gang I've had to learn recently that the whole "burning out" thing is real so if you find yourself being panicked every waking second that you're not working on something, despite those seconds being very rare, you should maybe listen to the signals and take an intentional break before you crash

Our report found that Musk has a direct business interest in over 70% of the agencies & departments DOGE targeted.

The conflicts of interest are endless.

just so we’re all clear: the reason they keep using dolls as their example is because they’re trying to frame caring about material stuff as feminine and thus inherently shameful
Bessent says that little girls who are sad about having fewer dolls should just have it explained to them that they will have a better life for it

Look the government being able to kidnap people in Massachusetts, and the only recourse being appealing to a trump-appointed judge in Louisiana sounds alarming but is it *as* big a story as Tim Walz' trip to China possibly taking place in a different month in 1989 than he implied it did
I wonder if tomorrow's newspapers will accurately characterize today's Supreme Court activity re habeas corpus and due process? Will they convey just how close to a precipice we are, in a way that non-lawyers will be able to understand?

I have my doubts.

Future generations will be baffled (as I was baffled at the time) that the Dem trifecta in 2021 did so little to stabilize democracy or repair the courts. The "radical" 14th amendment plan was much less radical than the alternative of doing nothing, it turns out. Constitution now in shreds.
They used every single lever of power they could and stole the court right in front of us.

If we ever get power back, we need to do the same and expand the court.
"The implication...is that not only noncitizens but also U.S. citizens could be taken off the streets, forced onto planes, and confined to foreign prisons with no opportunity for redress if judicial review is denied unlawfully before removal. History is no stranger to such lawless regimes..."
