Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

That's out of ≈270K!

Seattle counted roughly 39K ballots today, & they broke in favor of Wilson by 11.4%, erasing the entirety of the incumbent's lead.

The biggest thing you need to protect yourself from on Halloween is automobiles and it’s not particularly close
one of my real beefs is that every year around halloween, thousands of articles are written about "how to protect yourself during halloween" that cite local police departments, talking about completely unfounded claims of dangerous halloween candy

They hanged the people who got us the 8-hour workday.
If people actually understood how willing our government is to go to war with its own people simply for demanding equal rights, I think a lot more of us would be ready for war.

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Almost every aspect of the gig economy (delivery, airbnb, etc) is wildly immoral and often risky to yourself. It IS cheaper to use them but so is cutting paint with lead. We choose expense because we care about the well-being of ourselves and the people around us
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

take not of the urban design in these protests. some cities have big, wide avenues to demonstrate on, or big central plazas, or centralized parks on main st for gatherings. others have a stroad they can stand along. one is easier to have large gatherings, the other is not.

this is on purpose.

People keep asking why these big companies keep bending the knee to fascism even though these decisions are deeply unpopular with consumers, and the thing is they're pretty sure consumer choice isn't going to be a thing anymore. They're banking on monopolies and government contracts.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

And to add insult to injury, they’re unable to receive vaccines.

But YOU can do your part to help protect them by immunizing yourself & your family.
