To those who cancelled their Disney related subscriptions. Since Trump defunded PBS, it would help them quite a bit if you took the same money you used to send to Disney and instead, sent it to PBS/NPR.

A few thousand people gathered for Donald Trump's fascist military parade. Many millions assembled to oppose it.

Trump's core of support is comprised chiefly of stay-at-home racists and mercenaries who hurt people for pay.

Those who act according to their consciences overwhelmingly oppose him.
Emerging figures suggest the glut of protests across the country against Trump’s presidency marked one of the largest single days of demonstrations in U.S. history.

For reference, that’s between 1 and 2 percent of the total population of the United States.

If you burn down a forest, you don't miss out on lumber for just that season. You have to replant all the trees, nurture them, and wait for them to grow.

The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.

Three things made the US a rich and powerful nation: the rule of law, its science & innovation system, and openness to foreign talent. Remarkable how Trump has taken a sledgehammer to all three. No enemy of this country could do more.

Trying to imagine the outcry if Biden, Harris or Obama had said this….
Trump: "I don't think a beautiful baby girl that's 11 years old needs to have 30 dolls. I think they can have three dolls or four dolls ... they don't need to have 250 pencils. They can have five."

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Ok scientists & those who love science 🧪: here is another exhortation. Call Congress TODAY about the freeze on NIH Council Meetings and Study Sections. Emphasize that this means NO new grants are being funded & labs will soon start to shut down and fire employees. Phone numbers are at:

There hasn't been a post to the Federal Register on NIH activities since 1/21. This means even study sections that appear to have dates set in eRA commons will be canceled if they weren't announced before the change of administration.
Internal NIH guidance updated yesterday. Just canceling stuff each day from here on out I guess, pending new guidance. Killing science off both slowly and incredibly rapidly.
