Functioning Disney adult. Lover of potatoes. Cats are also cool. She/her.
Recently had my demi-decade-ish viewing of Mad Men and felt a little regret that I just barely missed the HBO streaming. But maybe fate had it right…
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

All of 2025 in a single photo.
incredible photo that's definitely worth at least 1,000 words from Andrew Harnik of Getty

This is insane. Teen Vogue has fantastic pieces and covers stories in ways that many major publications won’t approach them from. It was such a loss when they went to digital publication only, but this is so much worse.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

If I may dril for a moment, you absolutely do not have to give Trump “credit” for anything, ever. The saying does not go “even a broken clock hires its own gestapo”

I have never liked a politician so much that I would get on the internet to negotiate how much Nazi tattoo is a acceptable amount of Nazi tattoo.

It's none! None Nazi tattoo!

“…with her baby in her placenta.”

Maybe it’s the Trump Derangement Syndrome talking, but I’m going to go ahead and continue to never take any medical advice from this absolute unqualified loon.
RFK Jr: "Somebody showed me a TikTok video of a pregnant woman at 8 months pregnant -- she's an associate professor at the Columbia Medical School -- and she is saying 'F Trump' and gobbling Tylenol with her baby in her placenta. The level of Trump Derangement Syndrome is now a pathology."

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

If any other president in all of history said the military should use American cities as a training ground he would be removed from office that same day. The hardest thing to tolerate in all this is how relatively silent elected democrats are. It’s ridiculous.

I started seeing AI images of this nature last year—lots of “Remember how Halloween looked in the 90s?” images… when we have plenty of actual photos from that period. And now these type of business-focused nostalgia slop videos are dominating my feed. Does anyone actually want this?
This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

I got a CNN alert about the Michigan shooting and initially assumed it was a rundown about last night’s boat shooting. I think I just figured that it was too early in the day for it to be a different shooting. This is what it’s like living in America. I’m so sorry to all of the victims, everywhere.

If you, like me, are the parent of a neuro-atypical child dreading this autism press conference, please remember: These are the people hurting our kids. Not us. They are the ones stigmatizing and pathologizing them. They are the ones peddling untested science. And we should be very, very angry.

I think this point is far more important than we realize. The fact that we consume completely different media showing us completely different things is a huge driver of division.
This may explain why there’s an aggressive response to people who merely post Kirk’s own words. It threatens the existence of the alternate Kirk - the motivational speaker that had been marketed to young kids and white Christian groups through selective quotation & clips.

It's one thing to lament loss of life and decry political violence, but this revisionism is shockingly dishonest and downright offensive to the millions of people Kirk targeted and upon whom he inflicted pain and misery. The man was a liar and a bigot who gladly hurt others to advance himself.
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

If you are okay with this, if you think this is justified, if you think people living on the street have brought this upon themselves, if you think this is good leadership, you may be able to fool yourself that you care about others but you don’t fool me

Wondering what will be the final straw for the, “Whoa, I can’t believe I support Newsom, and now I’m unable to criticize him in any way!” crowd.
Gov. Gavin Newsom tells @karaswisher.bsky.social he’s launching a memecoin — the “Trump Corruption Coin.”

Full episode drops tomorrow!

Still the most disturbing aspect of the 2024 election, mostly because people bought it. Folks on the left meme-ifying it were almost equally as bad, because it made it clear that people really weren’t comprehending how disgusting the talking point was and how well it was received.
the "cat eating" fake story was the worst thing i've seen in politics in my lifetime
