Yes, Walter Chaw has been suspended from Bluesky. He's not sure why yet ("guillotine jokes or Gaza gfms," in his words), but, yeah. This place sucks, huh?

“Hey folks! You picked a great day to visit the chainsaw factory! Did you hear that Leatherface escaped from prison? Wow, that’s wild. Anyway here we have our Testing Floor, where we hang the chainsaws on bungee cords and swing them around at random ... wait, what’s that red stuff dripping on me?”
I love that the premise of every theme park ride is you embark on a leisurely and totally safe tour of an impossibly dangerous death trap and then within three seconds of sitting down the narrator goes “Welcome aboard! Over to your left that’s OH NO THEY ESCAPED, HANG ON THIS IS GONNA GET BUMPY.”

Respectfully, news orgs should not report that "Harvard can no longer" do xyz -- Trump just saying some shit doesn't make it law. Stop carrying water for him rhetorically.

Harvard can no longer enroll international students after the Trump administration revoked Harvard University's ability to enroll international students. The school called the decision "unlawful."

just leave it be! we got a perfect story. it's like wanting a sequel to Nope. or more Back to the Future movies. let's just enjoy the miracle we got.
I do not need a Sinners sequel.

I could be talked into a prequel or other supplemental content like a graphic novel, but totally not necessary.

SINNERS is uniquely difficult to talk about without spoilers so I'll just say it's the best Theater Experience of 2025, and Coogler does a terrific job merging image and sound to create something both contained and intimate but also transcendent and huge. it's something special

Also, for those of you not in the industry, every show that doesn't get made is hundreds of crew members also out of work. The unemployment epidemic in Hollywood is real and wide-spread. Hard working, talented people are having to cut their losses and move on. It's really a bad fucking time.
How bad is it out here for writers? From the WGA:

According to Guild data, approximately 37% fewer WGA-covered episodic TV series aired in the 2023-24 season, and the season’s series had 1,319 fewer writer jobs than the prior season. The decline in the number of jobs impacted writers at all levels.
