I am not going to dive into the back and forth on piracy. I have a side, you can guess what it is.

But I will say one thing: if you get the books from your library, you're still not paying for it and the author does get compensated.

Woo! Number 5!
Always fun to be on the bestseller list! There are still copies at Owl's Nest Books, if you'd like your own copy #yyc. (Which you do, it's an awesome book.)

During the same week that the UCP is expanding privatization, the auditor general finds that government interference cost taxpayers over $100 million.

How can anyone deny it’s the government that’s the problem?

Oh noes. The weapon is being weaponised. As it was intended to be.
To recap…

Demetrios incorrectly told people he would be authenticating signatures & can’t sign book bans properly…

Tanya Fir couldn’t hang up a phone WITH HELP & called a constituent a “motherfucker”

And they think that calling their competence into question is unfair?

Tim writes the important stuff.
I had the privilege to talk with Diane Walton, long-time editor of On Spec, Canada's premier sci-fi and fantasy magazine, as she heads into retirement and the publication wraps an impressive 35-year run.

Me, screaming on behalf of struggling indie authors, HARD SECOND THIS.
Before I go to bed, unfriendly reminder that boycotting Amazon and other services is just *not feasible* for some people. Income, disability, access to other services, lack of transportation, delivery fees, etc.

It doesn't mean they're "complicit". It means they're a victim of capitalism too.

Scorpio season!

Make someone who wronged you two decades ago into a nightmarish villain in a short story.

Start writing an entire novel simply to spite an old English teacher.

Kill some darlings that were just minding their own business.

Your time is now. ♏️
