As I said repeatedly during the Trump presidency and candidacy, people underestimate just how popular bigotry is. They don’t want to be called bigots, but they absolutely want to be bigots.
I feel like there is a tendency to overestimate how society will respond to even the most overt antisemitism. I just logged on to Twitter and the first four ads I got were from Apple, Pfizer, Samsung and Amazon. It’s been months since Musk invited back Anglin et al. They don’t care.
Look, if there's one thing advertisers want to be associated with, it's "I have imagined a deranged scenario in which the Jews owe me billions of dollars for conspiring against me and my Nazi friends."

The difference between Bluesky and Twitter isn't that there are no crappy people here; this place has 840k users as of this instant, it's impossible some of them won't be trolls, creeps or malign. The difference is the ethos here is "Don't engage, just block." The moment the mask comes off, block.
Sadly, this place is becoming more like Twitter every day. I just saw some asshat compare wanting to retain copyright over a book you wrote to being Hitler.

Someone at the office has a toaster. The smell of toast is in the air and I want it. I’ve now added a load of bread to my shopping list. Someone narc’d on the rogue toaster. I hope they stay hidden and live to toast another day. #proofficetoaster

It’s been a rough couple of days. Keep a good thought for Rhett and his recovery. This sweet boy was adopted in April of 2020 and as of Monday he was surrendered to a vet clinic across town thin as a rail, covered in fleas, and severely jaundiced. He’s had a blood transfusion and supportive care.
