Good piece by @polphilpod.bsky.social at @theunpopulist.net. I think there is something to be said for distinguishing fascism proper from merely illiberal right-populism. And there's no plausible narrow and precise definition of "fascist" that Musk doesn't very obviously meet.

i'll be honest i find the epstien stuff similar to the "constitutional crisis" stuff. like, it just seems rooted in the wrong idea that there are actual mechanisms of accountability that will just automatically kick into effect if certain facts "come to light"

As a new wave of student actions ensues, remember that the role of faculty allies is NOT to curb students' radical impulses. If you can't participate because of your own position, that's fine. But students are the radical flank of the movement, and you should absolutely never try to reign them in.
