I just donated to the Python software foundation. Python has been *the* single most important programming language in my life, personally and professionally, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one.

After this weekend's racist attacks on the EU, I've written a column about the moral obligation to stop posting on X.

Oh no, wait, I wrote it *two years ago* when it was blatantly obvious what was going on and how it would get much much worse.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Just published a new article on how to use UUIDv7 today with Python 3.14, Django 5.2 and PostgreSQL 18 🐍

I walk through Python generation, Django models, db_default, PostgreSQL functions, GeneratedField and even UUIDv47 for safer public IDs 🤖

Hope it's useful! 🙂

On an iPhone, hold the lock button and either volume button for 3s to force a passcode lock. Easy peasy.
Reminder to disable biometrics on your phone before attending any protests. If police ask for the passcode, you do not have to provide it.

The Trump administration has come to BlueSky and are posting innumerable trolling Hatch-Act violating posts designed to increase your blood pressure. I don’t believe there is anything they will post that you can trust, so I would advise muting them below.
