It's important for prominent Democrats, especially those running for president, to loudly promise they'll throw the full weight of the DOJ into prosecuting illegal acts committed by Trump officials during his administration. If people fear a prison cell, they're more likely to abandon the GOP.

Charlie Kirk spent his last days manufacturing a lurid panic about “Black-on-White crime” and his final post on X was a call to politicize a murder. He was not “practicing politics the right way.“ You can oppose what happened yesterday without pretending he was One of the Good Ones.

The story here isn't Kirk. It's how thousands of prominent right-wingers are calling for mass exterminations, for Trump to abolish the Constitution, for all Democrats to be rounded up and shot. The far-right faction of our politics has gone insane and is calling for mass violence

The US president trafficked & raped underage girls, the evidence is overwhelming, everyone knows it, and this country's elites & institutions are so broken, so insular, so decadent that we can't even bring ourselves to state it clearly, much less do anything about it.

Contemptible & pathetic.

Yes, do this.

"You cannot arrest someone because they are Hispanic" is worth fighting for. It's worth shutting down the government for. And it's worth attracting attention to.
A provision banning racial profiling of Hispanics by ICE in reaction to yesterday's SCotUs action should immediately be added as a non-negotiable position for any kind of CR.

*Force* the GOP to *demand* racial profiling of Hispanics and make them threaten to shut down the government over it

No. I thought Americans would stop before sacrificing the health of their children on the altar of their resentment.
This is unwatchable. Did you ever believe when you were writing the “end of expertise” that we would reach such profound anti-epistemic levels? This to me is unfathomable, that a man like this would be anywhere near a position of authority. it’s like having those Heaven’s Gate people in charge.
