I really, really hope the first-time and young volunteers and donors understand that this one was something to build on.
It's over.

Republican Matt Van Epps will beat Democrat Aftyn Behn in the 7th District special election.

There are not enough votes in Davidson to overcome the lead and other outstanding counties will not make a difference.

Also, it came out a few years ago, but I still recommend Mr Graff's "Watergate: A New History." Weirdly compelling, for a story we all know the end of.

The most interesting revelation: to this day, nobody knows exactly why the Plumbers planted the bug in the Dem HQ to begin with!

Every time someone jumps on socials and says there is no point to mass protest days and visible reaction in the streets, share this chart with them. The approval ratings are tanking not just because they're doing bad things but also because protestors won't let people forget it either.

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

To be clear, the FBI paid nearly $1M in overtime over a FIVE DAY PERIOD last March. And yes, part of it was to find and redact Trump's name. I spoke to sources who reviewed the files for the FBI and DOJ and wrote about it here: www.muellershewrote.com/p/the-epstei...

Targeting Kelly is one of those “this is why we’ll win” moments, bc it shows how politically impetuous this admin is.

There’s clearly no adult in the room to say “wait, maybe don’t go after the charismatic war hero turned literal astronaut who ran after his wife was a victim of political violence.”
Mark Kelly: "My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head. Six people killed around her, a horrific thing. She spent six months in the hospital. We know what political violence is and we know what causes it too, The statements that Donald Trump made incites others."

I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.
