PSA:

SARS-CoV-2 transmission happens in the blink of an eye.

Public health has failed us, but that is no excuse for us to fail each other. Take a minute to put on a respirator mask. This seemingly small action has a big impact that could save a life.

And the life you save may be your own.

I just want everyone to have the experience of living in dignity with access to sufficient food, safe housing, needed medical care, high quality education, and time to engage with what sparks their curiosity and spirit

this should not be controversial 🫠

It’s time to live another day as a radical extremist with unpopular opinions, like that all humans deserve food, healthcare, bodily autonomy, civil rights, a home, and clean air.

If you want or need SNAP benefits, literally the only barrier should be...signing up.

"But what about fraud?" My sibling in red, white, and blue, THE PENTAGON HASN'T PASSED AN AUDIT IN YEARS AND MONEY IS FAKE. I don't care if too many people have food assistance.

It’s never too late to start masking again.

It can be daunting to mask back up when no one else is bothering, but your health is worth it.

Every Covid infection is a dice roll with disability, and a good respirator like an N95 stops chains of transmission.

You’ll also get less colds & flus!

To oppose trans people's rights and freedoms you break so many social contracts. We keep saying that trans rights are human rights, but conversely, human rights are trans rights, because the second you decide some people don't deserve the same rights and freedoms as others? You start to lose it all.

How to be an ally to disabled / #immunocompromised people:

Wear a mask in public

Don’t minimize the harms of COVID to chronically ill ppl

Don’t minimize harms of COVID to yourself / family / friends

Don’t refer to COVID in the past tense (e.g don’t say “during COVID” if u mean “during lockdown”)

COVID-19 has revealed that much of the US public is willing to accept mass death and abandonment. We were pushed by propaganda to see many around us as disposable. That helped set the tone for current fascist violations. I wrote about it for @prismreports.org.

Another way out: Building resistance when passivity is the norm
The COVID-19 pandemic should have shown us that we’re supposed to be meeting needs, not falling in line behind fascist incursions

Every infection of Covid-19 is life-threatening.

Every infection of Covid-19 has the potential to cause serious illness and early mortality.

Every infection of Covid-19 degrades immunity, making further infections more likely.

Every infection of Covid-19 results in lasting damage.

One of the big COVID facts that tend to make people go deer in headlights is the high percentage of asymptomatic infections. Unfortunately these infections can still cause you or others problems months or years later. This was known back in 2020 but shushed up afterwards.

This week I dug deep into the Paradox of Tolerance.

We might hope still to build a new house to replace the one abusive bullies are burning down, after centuries of decades of being enabled in the name of civility.

If we do, the new house will need new locks.

We would all benefit from moving beyond the binary of calamity or complacency. What worlds can we create when we act from other locations? While I originally talked about this within the context of the 2024 presidential election, I also spoke of these questions as they resonate at the soul level.
