Great thread here. Take note, scientists & conservationists!
🧵 Here are a few notes from the ABA bootcamp I attended last week, on increasing your political engagement & interfacing with your elected officials. (Some are points I've made before):

🔹️Pick 1-2 big issues for you, & really learn about them. Hook into nonprofits working on those issues.

I attended a virtual American Bar Association civil rights bootcamp today. (Non-attorney advocates were welcome.) I had to step away sev. times to deal w/ other stuff, but I took some useful notes re: interfacing w/ policy makers (local, state & federal legislators); I'll try to do a 🧵 this weekend.

Some of the slogans in this history sure remind me of some things in Canada today
I've been reading a lot of history for similar reasons:

"I think about how impossible it must have felt to imagine that their influence would ever ebb. And I think about people...who, despite it feeling impossible, and despite paying incredible personal cost, kept fighting anyway. And they won."
In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…
