I wish my efforts to make things better went viral like my recent snark complaining about fascists did.

I have a podcast called Future Mending Radio about the people and organizations who are solving multiple problems at once. Clothing swaps, food co-ops, ethical chocolate, bike parties.

This is the crux. There is an entire cohort of municipal politician in Canada who actively don't like that they live in cities (reflective of a lot of voters).
Someone really needs to do a ranking of all of the anti-city city mayors in Canada

With current pledges, the world's on track for 2.6°C of warming in 2100 compared to preindustrial levels.

10 years ago, before the Paris agreement, it was 3.6°C

20+ years ago, we thought it would be 4-5°C

So 2.6°C is better, but the problem is that climate impacts are way worse than we predicted.
World still on track for catastrophic 2.6C temperature rise, report finds
Fossil fuel emissions have hit a record high while many nations have done too little to avert deadly global heating

I'm old, but I'm not THAT old, c'mon!

"For me, it’s important to dress classic. And I like to dress like that because I love history, especially the 20th century,” he said."

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

This seems fun. Does Toronto do a 'Hallowheelin' event? I feel like @bikepartytoronto.bsky.social would know.
A fun time was had by all at this weekend's #Hallowheelin event. Here part of the group is assembled in front of #DeaneHouse, pound for pound the most haunted location in all of Calgary (we spotted no ghosts except amongst our attendees). Good times, great day, AWESOME people! #yyc #yycbike

Dick Cheney was a far-right warmonger during his time in power but he died a centrist.

That's how far things have slid to the right in the last 20 years and many people haven't even noticed.

They're shutting down any media that tells it like it is.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Yes, EV batteries have serious negative environmental impacts. But gasoline production is just as bad, or potentially worse.

If you're actually worried about the environmental impacts of EVS, get a bicycle not an internal combustion vehicle.
