Remember, PM Carney has promised to impose a massive expansion of "critical minerals" mining for armaments manufacturing/profiteering in order to fulfil his commitment to NATO's astonishing new 5%-of-GDP arms spending targets. But he can't afford to fund housing, health care, or education.

Teck certainly has its own issues. The news from Highland Valley is only the latest. But it's hard to see how being taken over by Anglo will improve its accountability.
