I honestly don’t know if this is 1:1 applicable, but I think it’s relevant that the Luddites didn’t “smash the machines” because they were being replaced, or they feared the machines.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

I also watched this last night and greatly enjoyed it. It found a good balance of demonstrating bad faith actors, idealized faithful, and skeptic atheists who have respect for others of good faith without pandering.
Okay fine wake up dead man is really good -- much, much better than glass onion. This is possibly because I'm a mark for the last two needle drops or possibly because it effectively argues its admiration of faith, penance, and grace. Wouldn't it be nice? I'd admire that too.

I understand there will always be people who succeed more than others. I don’t think there can be this many of us and not have that happen. But we really just need those people who do succeed to continue to give a shit about everyone else.
