A friend of mine has early access to cutting edge corporate jargon, I heard the phrase "let's double-click on that" from him long before anywhere else. I asked him what's new these days and he says it's "the shark closest to your body" for the most urgent issue.

Seeing all those LLM CLI tools having those fun block character title screens made me want my own.

And no, I didn't have an LLM make this, just 6 hours toggling pixels in Photoshop. Pixel art is such a hyperfocus black hole.

Frog put the cookies in a box. “There,” he said. “Now we will not eat any more cookies.”

“But we can open the box,” said Toad.

“That is true,” said Frog.

Another functional pattern that is surprisingly useful for Advent of Code is this recursion over TODOs. Great for DFS/BFS etc.

New work • My typeface 'Levitate' is out now!

Taking aesthetic inspiration from electronic displays: 'Levitate' explores ways to embrace just a handful of shapes and 45-degree angles while developing a language that accounts for theoretically any glyph.

Progress has been good!

Last few things to plumb together, a nicer button style to implement, letting the user spawn the rust counter from within the UI... It's all coming together!

Is Rust wasm-bindgen and wasm-pack ready for use? My program using basic types and Serde is running into unreachable blocks, logging via web_sys doesn't work, etc. 🤔

Apple’s on-device LLM when asked for an SF Symbol: chaos.
Apple’s on-device LLM when asked for one emoji: extremely competent.

So Hour by Hour now uses emoji as a middle layer for icon picking. Welcome to modern computing.

Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

It's wild how instead of "is it Elm the mail client?" the HN comments focused on "is it BEAM the Apache Beam?"

Never change.
