Why isn’t metformin used routinely in acute COVID to reduce risk of long COVID? It’s cheap, effective, long-tested in other conditions and pretty harmless. Something to do with being off patent maybe?

I sometimes feel overwhelmed by helplessness in the face of all the media misinformation re Covid. I’m not a medic but follow informed doctors & scientists and just have no idea how the world will ever accept the dangers of being reinfected over and over if the media & govts won’t inform 🤷♀️

Hairdresser (unmasked) told me how husband still has lung probs 3 yrs on from Covid & how young client has long Covid even though prev fit & healthy. And yet no one masked. Public health is dead. So tired 😪
