A *huge* vaccine victory. I've been writing on this for years; Australia has seen remarkable progress in cervical cancer prevention with the HPV vaccine. I love seeing science triumph like this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

What the
Personally, I think it's a bad thing when people in the government post AI images without disclosing that they're AI.

There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for this to be happening.

I had a baby die in my arms of pertussis some fifty years ago. It was a HORRIBLE death. But my fellow nurses said to me, "It's almost stamped out now, they're all getting the shots, we won't be seeing this again."

HOW THE FUCK ARE WE HERE. 😡
A third infant has died in Kentucky, KYDPH adds:

“These are Kentucky’s first pertussis deaths since 2018. None of the infants nor their mothers received the recommended pertussis vaccinations during pregnancy or early infancy.”

My Facebook feed no longer has anything from people I know. Instead it's 99% AI slop videos of "trains floating on canal boats having accidents in which someone falls into the water". It's horrible, mainly because I can't stop watching them on repeat and the algorithm knows the darkness of my soul.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

We are nearly approaching the 10-year anniversary of the Colangelo family Thanksgiving mystery of trying to figure out who ate the bag of gourmet dog treats thinking they were cookies and stashed the wrapper under the couch once they realized their mistake.

You expand in the air. Clothes get tight. Shoes get tight. If you're in soft stretchy clothes and slippers you don't HAVE to take anything off. Sleep well my cozy fliers.

If fatuous but famous people are doing things, you get no points for posting, "Okay, I'll bite, who are they?" Yes yes, you're very fancy for not knowing, but I'm not going to make it my problem to explain things to you.

All the attachments? Like, the contents of files that we send?
Google just changed its settings so that it is reading all of your mail, and all of the attachments to your mail, in order to train its LLM. It does not ask your consent. If you turn it off your inbox becomes unusable.

I'm enraged but I don't know what to do.

"doodidees" = blueberries with the consonant cluster simplified and onsets substituted with [d], both very common features of child language acquisition. Any SLP or preschool teacher could tell you that, but sure, we need to "leverage AI" to figure it out.
