We went out to dinner. On the way back, we listened to Julia Bullock's recent recording of Barber's Knoxville, Summer of 1915.

We waited in the car for it to finish, each with our private tears. Then sat together, sharing childhood memories.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I would love to see more schools adopting these policies. These products are harmful to the planet, to communities, to workers, and especially to children.
Love to see community action against this AI nonsense! neighborhoodview.org/2025/11/13/d...

I think i'm right about this.

But if you post something on here & somebody "likes" it, then nobody sees it except the person who sent the post.

I think that's the default. (I'm sure you can change it, but hey)

If you really do like something on here, repost it.

Likes are nice. But reposts rock.

I have been listening to John Zorn's recent piano trio music on repeat for months now. Suite for Piano, Ballades, Impromptus.

The new one-- Nocturnes-- has just come out.

These pieces teach me how to breathe again.

Brief check-in-- I hope everyone is doing as well as possible.

Spent the holiday weekend with family in Texas, where I read some poems, and some Camus. We watched an Ernst Lubitsch and ate too much.

I got some great feedback on my full-length poetry manuscript. Lots to think about. Maybe someday!

something I'm surprised gen AI discourse didn't hit yet is the attitude "I asked for it to be done, so I made it" has always been how rich people view using workers who have trained skills and do the technical side. they see themselves as creators for having an idea, we were just a means to that end
