I am so excited to share this poem and join the many many other Icarus poets. Here is my speculative ekphrastic "Flooded Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" which imagines Breughel's landscape altered by climate change.

Thank you @terrainorg.bsky.social!

indulge my curiosity: what's hanging near your desk for inspiration, motivation, vibe-set, etc?

mine: NYer cartoon of wolves howling, captioned “It's totally pointless—that's what makes it art” & post-it with an Allen Grossman line: "A poem is about something the way that a cat is about the house"

My new favorite thing is when someone is super vocal and against a publication or press and gets published by them 2 or 3 years later.

No I am not getting into particulars, it happens enough to notice and scratch my head and go on about my day.

Rejection is bad but watching your 9yo get rejected for a part in the school play after spending a month preparing a monologue and song for her audition is worse.

If you never research for your poems, what are you even doing?? The amount of serendipitous connections I end up making are wild.

Found out that my neighbor described me to her as that guy in our building who looks like George Clooney. Her husband and I laughed pretty hard about it, but I get to hold on to the fact that for a subset of humanity I am at George Clooney level of attractiveness.

Omg. His memory and his films (especially Princess Bride) will be a blessing. Can the rest of Hanukkah not include more senseless killings of Jews? Please.

Staying off social media most of the day allowed me to grieve without turning it into a signal, allowed me to avoid hot takes and no takes and silences over the death of 15 people who were celebrating Hanukkah.

I know the GOP is the dog that caught the car with messing up insurance, but can we talk about 1. 2020 Medicare for all or Medicare for all who want it ideas turned into subsidies instead. 2. The dems decided to end the shutdown to let the GOP dog catch the car so they could win backlash elections
