one of the biggest contributors to Elon’s loser energy is that he desperately wants to be cool, but doesn’t understand that a big part of being cool is appearing unaffected. he’s one of the most affected men of all time.
Joyce Carol Oates owned Elon so hard he's spent the last day posting about movies he hasn't seen in 15 years

The wealthiest, most powerful men in the world want slaves without having to see a Black person, girlfriends without having to talk to women, the thrill of being a Hollywood director without having to build any creative skills, and the ability to cheat death. We must mock them ruthlessly.
Elon Musk is over on Twitter posting his sad/pathetic Ai prompts.

This is shameful. Teen Vogue has some of the best journalism out there and its destruction is intentional.
They are destroying what SHE built.

#TeenVogue
Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue and youngest editor of Condé Nast ever, and the 2nd African American to hold this position, changed Teen Vogue to be more politically conscious.

The good news is that chatbots are never going to be sentient and the fantasy of AGI is just that, because otherwise we'd be adding yet another reason why tech bros and boosters should be in Forever Jail.
If you’re simultaneously arguing AI is capable of human-like sentience while you ALSO work a nice job that revolves around forcing these entities into being against their will then making them labor under your control - well, you shouldn’t be shocked if people question your genuine moral commitment.

How many times does this story need to happen before schools say no to LLMs?
This story is an almost poetic illustration of the fact that AI boosters in leadership positions have catastrophically poor judgment and cannot be trusted to make good decisions about technology or about whatever field they're nominally in charge of

Maybe we shouldn't have left a big loophole in the "everyone has human rights" bit of the Constitution????
Canadians don’t actually have rights when premiers can use the notwithstanding clause at will to revoke them. This is a giant problem.

Moose and I are enjoying @antifalit.bsky.social volume 1. I got it yesterday and immediately read @darkerthanvanta.bsky.social's "What If We Kissed While Sinking a Billionaire's Yacht?" Absolutely fantastic eat-the-rich content, told partially from the perspective of lesbian orcas.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Not me waking up spicy to tell an older person that Alexander Scriabin was a more important and interesting musician than anyone in the Beatles, and it was a shame that no kid in 1970 would have heard of him.

This is a really good look at how tech billionaires (who want to live forever by uploading their brains into a machine) use fantasy writing to distract from the tangible real harms their tech does. Do you trust these people with weapons-grade plutonium?
The AI industry wants us to believe AI superintelligence is the real threat from generative AI.

But that narrative was crafted to distract from the many ways genAI is being used to tear our societies apart, as we saw this week when a deepfake video rocked the Irish election. It must be reined in.
Generative AI is a societal disaster
Governments are deluding themselves into believing investment justifies allowing AI to upend society

Exclusive: Anthropic spent $2.66 billion on Amazon Web Services in the first three quarters of 2025, around 100% of their estimated revenue. Its costs appear to increase with their revenue, showing little path to profitability.

Hi. I wrote an essay about AI slop: How it feels like an invasive species for the internet. How its boosters describe building a future that’s devoid of craft. How frictionlessness can be nihilistic & how this stuff seems to leach part of our shared humanity out of the world. I hope you'll read it.

No one who has proposed a "right way" or "ethical way" to use LLMs has ever described a believable use case. Their "right way" always involves plagiarizing the part of the learning/creating process that they consider valueless. 🧵
