This is written with a child’s (lack of) understanding of workers rights, at-will employment, and human dignity. As someone who has argued forever against at-will employment and for workers’ right to dignity, it is dismaying but not surprising to see the worst version of an important argument here

Been studying and practicing the law since 1991. American law is currently entirely broken and out of touch with the needs of the nation. SCOTUS needs a complete redesign, not just packing.

If you don't know the whole story about Mine Mill Local 890, both in 1950 and throughout its history, you should take the time. I had good friends in what was by then Steelworkers Local 890 when Freeport-McMoran finally killed it in 2014. They didn't care what they killed, it was "just business."

Electoral politics is a shit show. However, liberalism (classical use) requires that if you engage in that shitshow you do so in good faith, even when the oppo does not. A stupid, factually flawed argument, even if it wins the day, is a failure. "Qatar air force base" is one such failure, IMO.

Another "legal fiction." Lawyers get really bent out of shape if one of them is "less than civil" to the other. That will earn you a "reputation." But repeated violations of well-known laws and rules in ways that harm non-lawyers is simply considered "zealous representation."
