This trick that the planet is looking back at you is actually a Hubble treat: An eerie, close-up view of Jupiter, the biggest planet in our solar system. Hubble was monitoring changes in Jupiter’s immense Great Red Spot (GRS) storm on April 21, 2014, when the shadow of the Jovian moon, Ganymede, swept across the center of the storm. This gave the giant planet the uncanny appearance of having a pupil in the center of a 10,000 mile-diameter “eye.” For a moment, Jupiter “stared” back at Hubble like a one-eyed giant Cyclops. A Portland mother and her four children, who are U.S. citizens, are being detained in Ferndale by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, according to U.S. Rep. Maxine Dexter of Oregon’s 3rd congressional district. The family has been held at the facility for nearly two weeks without any contact with legal representation or charges being filed, according to their lawyer, Jill Nedved with Gonzales Law Office in Seattle.

I believe this drawing dates from the 1930s this is a projected plan of Manhattan by the Italian architect and planner runs a Picasso where he conceives of the Manhattan carved up by Massive multi-level highways running north south and east west crossing over 3 crossing over the Hudson on three huge Bridges I sometimes think that Gene Jacobs might actually be one of the great and then villains of the 20th century the way her insistence on local control and historical preservation has been taken to the point of having mentally destructive impacts on housing and urban Life in America but looking at this drawings reminder that there were very bad things that James Jacobs was acting in response to freaking dialectic of humanity somebody comes up with a bad idea and then somebody counters that with what eventually turns into being a terrible idea in the other direction and the zigzagging back and forth and yeah the some people you know it's nice when there's a dialectic synthesis a model of a pendulum seems to nice because and you know on average everything is nice and safe in the middle but really very often pendulum movement in Social Affairs is zipping from one horrible to extreme to another horrible extreme with barely Applause for breath a golden mean
