Since 2011 the fuel duty freeze has cost the Treasury £133 billion.

This huge amount could have paid for lower train and bus fares, better stations, safer walking, wheeling and cycling and much more!

Rachel Reeves will freeze fuel duty to dodge ‘political suicide’
The chancellor will also highlight a rise in the minimum wage and plans to cut energy bills as she tries to win over voters by focusing on cost of living

Driving to visit my mum in Bolton. In places rows of street lights awash with flags, many now only attached by one zip-tie.
2 things:

1. There’s a fair chance some will come off as people drive by. This has got to be dangerous?
2. They surely affect house values for the worse?

This is great and all that but it’s Manchester that’s an economic powerhouse of growth for the UK. Time we had an easy ride for public transport improvements.
Huge news on the DLR extension to Thamesmead: the Government has given its backing.

It will mean easier travel, new jobs and tens of thousands of new homes.

Here’s something that’s really important for everyone to understand.

If we design our cities just for cars, they fail everyone, including drivers.

If we design our cities with many great CHOICES in how to get around, they work better for everyone, including drivers.

Spread the word.

X is a propaganda megaphone sustained by the world’s richest man paying global warming deniers and the enemies of democracy to lie 24/7.

It’s a cesspit of racism, sexism, and nationalism; a loss-making basket case of bedroom-dwellers who claim to be patriots but hate their countries for money.

At the very least Beech Rd in Chorlton could be this rather than the car sewer it currently is.
Voorstraat in Utrecht: a true fietsstraat where bikes come first and cars are guests. It’s not just safer and more relaxed to cycle - the whole street benefits. Outdoor cafés, quieter homes, and a vibrant public space. When you design for people, cities flourish.

❌ Music creators at this level are micro-businesses, and with minimal resources available to them, Brexit often makes touring the EU untenable.

I’m not convinced this is the flex he intended.
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Today’s fun tax tip…

(It’s a similarly daft situation that railways pay tax on fuel/energy but airlines don’t pay any tax on their aviation fuel, a huge hidden subsidy)

In addition to retaining the "prince" in his title, Prince Andrew remains (very aptly) a 'Vice' Admiral in the Royal Navy and also remains eighth in line to the throne.

And there's nothing you plebs can do about it.

They lie about the ECHR.
Just like they lied about Brexit. Claiming if we just got rid of that ‘European’ thing, we’d be free, we’d have control, all our problems solved…
It’s NOT TRUE.
We’d inflict more chaos on ourselves and torch our own human rights framework for NOTHING.
For liars.
