I'm highlighting this section from one of my documents re: my personal experience being threatened by a voice actor.

Because I still find it quite relevant.

People in the industry will do atrocious things to one another, and then duck out of sight while continuing to benefit from their position.

All of this talk about queerness being "unnatural" in the modern landscape and not a single person is pointing out how utterly unnatural it is to rely on something like GPT to perform the natural role a parent has to their child. Fuck off.

If you feel the weight of what you're doing, why have you worked against devs by taking away their union materials at previous events?

Your cowardice is apparent to everyone. Your time will come.

Turn off the stream this year. Deny them the CCV they trade for ad revenue, and if you care about the craft, direct your attention to awards like BAFTAs: Peer-voted honors where developers recognize each other's labor without being played off by music so a celeb can sell you sugary drinks.

And of course quietly erasing the Future Class proves what many of us knew: it was never about uplifting marginalized voices but a marketing prop. The moment those voices demanded real advocacy like speaking up against genocide or 31K layoffs since 2023, the program became "inconvenient".

He wraps the misery of industry layoffs in World Premieres and expects us to applaud the facade, and honestly we deserve a better "spokeperson" of the industry. One that defends the people who build this industry, not the corporations that dismantle it for quarterly gains.

And you have every right not to support and white knight for a giant corporation that is pushing AI slop and would rather hire scabs than protect the actors they already had.

And Martin literally already fucking covered that the strike on Mihoyo was a separate but connected thing.

And re: “the issue is done”

An actor literally just got replaced for striking for better AI protections. It just happened.

This whole thread exists because fans are trying to pretend it didn’t.

The issue might be done for you, but the issue also barely affected you to begin with.

I didn’t mention the SAG strike.

People striking should matter. Union or not.

If the talent replacing the actors who lost their jobs trying to fight for better working conditions get to celebrate their wins, the actors who lost those jobs shouldn’t have their efforts ignored or hand waved.

every time I see an A-list actor in an ad for some slot machine phone game, I think about how Bill Murray's character in Lost in Translation doing advertisements is framed as basically the highest form of humiliation an actor could go through.
