I wanted to make a Marie Kim centric piece revolving around the phrase 'walking on eggshells' in regards of the abuse she has suffered.

I remember watching a video by an artist where she went through every single one of her sketchbooks and I found it super fun. Would that be interesting if I did that too with my... *checks* 20+ sketchbooks that Ive filled since I was 14... excluding the ones I already showed in videos. ? 🤔

I also have a goal to contribute to purchasing a reclining desk chair. I have not been able to use my desk in over a year because I can't do art anymore without elevated legs, so the chair will give me a much easier setup. Of course, please prioritise those in need though!

A little more info about this 💙 As part of this situation I rest my stuff on my lap and on the desk to my side, not the full thing haha.

I absolutely don't expect tips, but I would appreciate them if you'd like to support my oil journey!
Just a little more info about the desk chair requirement too: to do art that can't be done in bed atm, what I do is sit in my arm chair and prop my legs up on the current desk chair. Unfortunately it's bulky and too big so not suitable for wheeling or moving around much, meaning if I need something I have to get up. Not very suitable! Meanwhile a reclining desk chair will mean I can wheel around better and keep my legs up with just the chair. It also means I can rest properly in the chair by leaning back to rest, so in theory I will be able to spend longer in the study rather than only manage my current sub hour per week due to my limited capacity to sit up. (And less so when my bone capacity is small, like what has happened this week and I had to drop oil painting plans today) I aim to buy the chair in the winter and tips will just help me purchase faster. So no pressure still, just wanted to provide more context to the access need! It's non urgent but will be massive for my quality of life. 💙

Wherever I’m With You (Putnam 2027), a co-created graphic novel by Suzanne Samin and me, follows two former best friends from the Bronx: Aran, a Syrian American teen, grappling with his mother’s death,
and Tao, a college basketball star, who have to face life and old feelings once Tao moves back.

It’s a warm early summer evening, behind them the sky slowly turns orange and purple and at the basketball court two guys are playing, a subway on high track trails is passing and there’s some nyc buildings and skyline Aran and Tao after the timeskip, now 19/20 years old, older and taller, sitting at an electricity box in front of a basketball court. It’s a warm summer day and the colors are warm with lots of yellow and orange and red Aran and Tao as young adults late at night at a bodega where Aran has his late night shift. Aran sits behind the counter while Tao sits on the counter and they are solving a crossword puzzle together. They are surrounded by bodega items and clutter. The view is a top view looking down in both, like from a security camera. Aran and Tao as young adults at a laundromat late at night. Aran puts some clothes into a dryer, while Tao behind him leans at one of the folding tables and chats with Aran. Both are smiling and are in a casual and good mood. The colors are a bit cooler with some neon lights.
