A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

The issue seems to be that while spitting on an ICE agent will get you arrested, or throwing a soft missile like a sandwich, they are allowed to smash your car window or knock your face into the ground without cause.

I used to say this trial was a waste of taxpayer dollars, but I think it’s totally worth it.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.
The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.
