A photo of my horse on Lomography turquoise, a colour shifting film the renders blue as orange and yellow as blue. This one earned a spot in a juried show last year.

One of the sequelae to covid is MCAS, and one of the big symptoms of that is acquiring exciting new allergic reactions to random things.

You can suddenly behave allergic to deodorant, soap, wheat, chocolate, garlic, milk, cheese (and anything what contains histamines, such as leftovers), etc.

Speaking of Lepidoptera life cycles, we have a leaning fence from all the rain we have had and my chore is delayed not by environmental permits, but a monarch butterfly Chrysalis.

i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

Why do men need an exclusive vision of virtue? Why don’t they want a universal, ungendered ideal of a good life? Why won’t they share in that striving with us?

People say “the scars of the 1910 fire are still visible.”
Look closer: the scars aren’t from the fire—they’re from the roads and salvage logging that followed.

Yellowstone burned in 1988 with the same intensity.
Because it wasn’t salvaged, most visitors have no idea a fire ever happened.
