There’s some very irresponsible & simply incorrect reporting around the OFGEM price cap announcement. Media continuing to dance to the tune of oil investors.

Agreed. We stop Russia in Ukraine, or we’ll have to stop Russia in Poland, the Baltics or Moldova.

Russia will not stop with Donbas.
Agree. Coalition of the Willing has to stop deluding itself that after a ceasefire on reasonable terms it will send symbolic forces to Ukraine w US backing. UK, France, Germany, Poland &c must invest whatever it takes to defeat RU in UA, or they will have to fight it, without US help, further West.
It’s not a “US plan”, it’s Moscow’s plan, dictated to guilty men in the White House. Setting aside the injustices being pushed on Ukraine, this would be a disaster for European security & guarantee a war with 🇷🇺 in a few years, in which, presumably, 🇺🇸 and 🇷🇺 are on the same side.

Quite a metaphor. 👀

"The blaze [sent] panicked delegates racing to evacuate...rain from a torrential downpour leaked into the meeting spaces...There were complaints about food shortages, & the air-conditioning struggled to keep up with the high heat..."

Delegates were evacuated from the conference venue, where thousands from nearly 200 countries had gathered.

Last week the Treasury/No11 was leaking rumours about cutting the BUS grant for ASHP, today DESNZ expands the scheme to include A2A.

The latter is absolutely the right thing to do, but what a f’ing shambles.

It’s the most bizarre form of gaslighting that places the blame of a) Labour’s troubles and b) the prospect of a Reform government, on those who criticise/leave the Party, rather than on the policies, lack of vision and dreadful comms of the current Labour leadership.

It will never not be compelling to me that the same people who produced Goldeneye - a fun, campy Bond in which Bond is both younger than he was in Licence to Kill but also apparently was around in it, also said “you know what Bond needs? Lore!” in the 2020s.
“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s Bond. Just do whatever the fuck you like.

Did not expect pretty much the only British institution to respond to bad faith attacks from the right by telling them to 'do one' would be the National Trust.

Further did not expect the BBC and Labour Party to see the strategy work near perfectly and then decide to completely ignore it.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
