"VW subsidiary Audi still delivers almost 24% of its vehicles w/ diesel engines, even though diesel sales are declining.
At BMW, the figure is more than 25%.

At more than 29 percent, the rate at Mercedes is higher than at any other manufacturer.

Even increased by one % point compared to 2024"

Surprises absolutely nobody

"Chinese manufacturers among the clear market share winners
Chinese OEMs increased registrations to 133,132 vehicles (+25.2%), raising their market share to 4.7% (2024: 3.8%).

As a result, they overtook both the Renault Group and US manufacturers in the German market."

Last year, Enel (X Way) was fined for applying 'margin squeeze', charging other charging app providers higher prices then their own, making it impossible to provide a similar roaming offering as Enel was providing:
Enel X/Enel X Way, Italy’s dominant EV charging point operator, has been fined €2.3 million for obstructing MSP competition. For example, it has impeded other EV charging apps from offering equal pricing compared to its own.

The year starts with a new competition case re. public EV charging prices in Italy. The competition authority has decided to conduct a further investigation into A2A Mobility, as prices charged to others were higher than in their own app.

"Tough year for Volvo (controlled by Geely).

Just released numbers show that toal sales declined by 7%. Volvo's EVs were the primary driver of the sales decrease with a year-over-year decline of 13%.

In terms of units, Europe was the worst market. Volvo lost about 30K EV sales in 2025"

Others already pointed out the basic empirical problems with Dan Wang’s claim in Breakneck that China is governed by ‘engineers’. This review rightfully points out that Wang missed the whole point: science is used as a mythical source of authority for the authoritarian party-state.
What's so funny about peace, love and engineering?
Dan Wang's bestseller celebrates a miracle run by engineers—but what if a century of borderline-mythological ideology is running the show?

How China Is Taking its Fight Against Oil Demand on the Road
Most discussions of global oil markets fixate on supply: where the next barrel comes from, how much it costs to extract, and which producer sets the marginal price. That lens is in full force with the...

He didn't make it far from Polestar, though, located down the road in Gothenburg, where he was previously CEO.
