The X-Files is genuinely a timelessly good show, because when not focusing on overarching conspiracy plot, they would really just focus on a single concept and quite crucially, it would cast an incredible actor to center the episode around who would be utterly god damn captivating to watch.

In my fruitless search, I see the casket under a bush. Inside is a hare, which gives birth to a duck, which lays an egg, which cracks open & reveals a needle. I know my fairy tales—this is the death of someone immortal. The needle bends, then breaks between my fingers. Koshchei is deathless no more.
It's not until you've bundled inside, stomped ice from boots and burned lips on hot chocolate, that you realize you lost your necklace out there in the drifts. You suit back up, search in the waning light, but the necklace remains lost. What do you find instead?
