Alberta is invoking a rarely-used provision to override Canada's Constitution, most recently used by Saskatchewan, also for anti-trans legislation
Alberta is expected to introduce anti-trans legislation (Bill 9, "Protecting Alberta's Children Statutes Amendment Act") with the notwithstanding clause today — overriding trans youth’s right to life and to equality.
This will be by far the deadliest anti-trans bill likely to become law in Canada.
