2 April is the Feast of St Flounder, patron of mid-life changes. As the eye of the flounder migrates across its skull, so do we migrate through our lives. This saint is often portrayed lying on his side with both eyes on the left side of his head. It is unsettling and rarely favored in paintings.

The abuser’s classic playbook is to isolate you from your friends, create a sense of helplessness, make it difficult to connect with others and force you to simply think about your survival from one day to the next. We are seeing that playbook applied to the nation as a whole.

I think disco elysium is the perfect capital L leftist video game experience because they got immediately dogwalked by capitalists (not even smart ones) and then splintered into smaller circles that are fighting with each other instead of making their games

The further right the democrats go, the more republicans they’ll make.

If they’re going to capitulate to republican policies anyways, people are just going to choose the party that’s actually successful at those policies to begin with.

This is actively something I don’t think people realize about this election: people forget that the Democratic Party (the vast majority) was actively ignoring their constituents at the same time they were demanding they vote for them.

The images and videos that came out of the DNC alone…
💯 I’m 70 & a life-long Dem until now. The vitriol directed at those of us who tried to push D leadership during Biden’s term, the refusal to acknowledge US complicity in genocide, not wanting Biden to run again showed me the Party didn’t care what the base wanted. Their rhetoric w/o action is hollow

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out.

They gut the FAA.
Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted.
Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

Art is a powerful means of speaking truth to power.

When it seems the powerless are being silenced, artists, musicians, writers, entertainers, and poets give the people a voice.
