This is a crucial point: The assault on birthright citizenship is part of a much larger attempt to fundamentally redraw the boundaries of the polity and exclude everyone the Trumpist Right does not accept as “real” or “authentic” American - including all those who adhere to “anti-American” ideas.
it's the obvious next step after eliminating birthright for children of non-citizens. finding other classes of "undesirable" Americans and denying them citizenship too.

A hypothetical: Imagine I gathered: 1 1/2 cups flour; 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder; 1/4 teaspoon salt; 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened; 1 cup granulated sugar; 2 large eggs; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; 1/2 cup whole milk.

Cosign. We won't eliminate for profit Healthcare in this lifetime w/ the way US Capitalism works. Multipayer fosters competition & ensures a social safety net. But! Healthcare Robber Barons wouldn't be able to paper their yachts with the money needed for children's chemo, so I see the hesitance
I know I’ve said this before, but we could have *multipayer* universal health care coverage tomorrow. Countries like Australia already have it. Medicare for all is the safety net and people can still buy private insurance if they want. It’s fucking criminal we don’t have that.
