Illinois handled 25% of ALL out-of-state abortions last year.

That’s 35,000+ people crossing state lines just to get care.

The Chicago Abortion Fund fielded 16,000+ calls and no one was turned away.

That's holding the line.
Nearly 25% of All Out-of-State Abortions Took Place in Illinois Last Year: Study
About 35,000 out-of-state patients traveled to Illinois for an abortion last year, accounting for 39% of all abortions provided in the state, according to a recent study.

in which greg bovino threatens a federal judge on fox news
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

I have an alt account with ~200 Ukrainian mutuals so I asked how they're staying warm. Some have central heat via gas boiler but the ones that don't are using sweaters and blankets, hot water bottles wrapped in towels. One answered that they use gas stoves (😬). Temps in the 40s lately (3-9 C).
Yeah so several major Ukrainian cities are in a complete blackout right now. 0 generation from thermal plants and 0 idea when the power will be back. Just please don’t forget us

While thinking about the future of Chicago 312, many people have surprised me saying that they’d like to see more communications and narrative “how to” guides for Chicago organizers. Here’s the first experiment:

They can't be on city property but there is no enforcement mechanism

They definitely can’t be there but the city has said they won’t enforce unless one of those overpriced signs is already hung up (in response to community advocacy about ICE / CBP staging at other locations). And of course, they’re also refusing to enforce even if a sign is present.

Like who? I can tell personally that she's a poor, often alarmist, reporter but it is very difficult to convince trans people in my life of that without an alternative to point to.

So is the Bean not on city property? What's the deal? Seems like there should be a full investigation. Looking forward to action on this.

American: and that's how it works

Anyone else: oh my God that is horrifying, what the fuck

American: no no I'm not talking about what it was like before when it was evil, I'm talking about what it's like nowadays

Anyone else: oh my God

The thing about ACA is that if an American describes how it works to someone from literally anywhere else, the other person will be utterly horrified at its deliberate cruelty.

The way the horror of pre-ACA healthcare sounds to an American, is basically how ACA sounds to everyone else on earth.

This is most directly about the fake electors (none of whom face any federal charges anyway) but the actual wording of it is much broader: it's effectively a full and complete blanket pardon for anybody who had anything to do with trying to steal the 2020 election, not just the Jan 6-ers.
The language of this pardon is extremely broad.

It includes “all United States citizens for conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities, participation in, or advocacy for or of any slate or proposed slate of Presidential
electors…”

I'm single. No kids, no claims, no pre-existing conditions. The cataclysmic leap from paying $50 a month to $1,228.28 a month is a level of devastation the depth of which I'm struggling to articulate. I wasn't going to be able to afford when I thought it was going up to $350 a month. And now...😵
I thought my new health insurance premium was going to be $350 per month until I got this letter informing me that it would be $1,228.28 PER MONTH. I CURRENTLY PAY $50. Is my math mathing? Is that.... a 2,356.42% increase?

2256.42%????

TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY SIX POINT FORTY TWO PERCENT😩

There will be some "Wow you can't make these people happy" sentiment but what's really happening is the Dems are beginning to reap the consequences of not really believing in anything. Choreographed maneuvers, too clever by half talking points. People have just had it
