I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.

I’ve now had 3-4 exchanges with business profs who seem baffled that humanities profs are resisting their assertions that AI can teach our courses and AI can replicate our work.
They all seemed quite shocked that “you don’t matter and this machine will replace you” isn’t a winning sales pitch.

Coming back to this point - many of them would actually lose debating competitions based solely on their lack of decorum let's be real
Watching this is really bringing home why I was so turned off debating in college - it's a loudest voices contest, rather than the soundest point - small party leaders are effectively being punished for not interrupting with how little time they're getting #RTEUpFront
