No, it's not acceptable to use genAI to cut costs for yourself. There are ways to get all of the above discounted or in trade, so long as you're willing to put in time with other members of your writing community (which you should be anyway!). Either that, or save for the expense.

I will never use AI for my covers, editing, translation, or anything else. It is not only useless to me as an author, it is actively hostile and harms every skill related to book production.

If you're an author against AI used to generate writing, you better back everyone else in the chain too.
