"The problem isn't me not being small enough, it's the world not being safe enough."
Bigoted, abusive men remain in power to enable bigoted, terroristic men to terrorize marginalized people, whether that be a social media CEO or a police chief. The problem isn't me not being small enough, it's the world not being safe enough.

you ready to treat it with practical antifascist methods of resistance instead of with nonstop culturally christian handwringing over rapists' moral redemption yet?

so given *gestures at everything rn*, are we ready to comprehend that sexual violence is a technology of oppression and not an individual oopsie or a matter of moral taste yet?

You could make this argument for bombing and regime change in the US. “Donald Trump was ineligible for the presidency in 2024 under the 14th Amendment, and therefore the United States must be bombed to restore democracy.” Somehow I don’t think the pundit class would be so credulous in that case.

Unpopular opinion, especially here: what's happening on Twitter isn't new or exclusive to Twitter. It's just one flavor of what men make the world for women. Including social media. To suggest women keep fleeing to allegedly safer spaces is gaslighting ignoring the actual problem. Men.

I have done the hard work of therapy and healing and growth. I have tried to love myself and my body more. I have worked to internalize, with varying degrees of success, that it was not my fault.

But the experience proved that at the end of “passing” is just being a woman. From pariah to property.

Men have felt and will always feel entitled to control women’s bodies. We see this everywhere, from Twitter to the Supreme Court. Generative AI simply offers another vector for attempting to exert that control. A mere photo of your face online now means you can be in porn against your will.

And I appreciate they're validating every accusation women have made, including that this was never about abortion but rather men seizing control of women's bodies to violate them however they choose.

This is why we rightfully identify men's sexual abuse as sexual terrorism. The goal is our fear, our anxiety, our living a life smaller to escape men's abuse. Exactly why women declared they'd feel safer encountering a bear than a man.

I know, I know, it's nigh impossible for me to look at a problem in and/or caused by the United States and not think 'if y'all would just take the Reconstruction Amendments serious....'

.........but if y'all would just take the Reconstruction Amendments serious!!!

Can't help but feel like this is one of the reasons why the Constitution says If a dude in office does an insurrection, don't let that motherfucker hold office again

Bc clearly they cannot be trusted with power & control over the levers of government, & they do not care about democratic constraints

Kind of amazing how someone as dumb and unsophisticated as Trump is simply manages to perfectly crystalize US foreign policy this century. He's on Fox & Friends just straight up saying "yeah we're going to put our own guy in there and take the oil"

We also now know the US military is completely A-OK with obeying illegal, unconstitutional orders. That should terrify every other living human being on the planet. There isn’t the slightest thread of a legal justification for these actions - assuming any of this is even true.

Whatever happens now, we absolutely cannot allow Trump's refusal to seek Congressional authorization for what appears to be a large scale military attack on another country vanish from the media discussion, which already appears to be happening.

To be fair, people in the US, really love cops too. ACAB is aesthetic for most. There is no interest AT ALL in diminishing the power of policing. We just saw this again over the past 5 years.
The sheer cognitive dissonance it takes for USians to shriek "ACAB but the poor widdle imperial goons had no choice and respect the troops and and and" always belied such a rank, foul hypocrisy.

Cops are bad because they hurt USians, who are people, but soldiers hurt foreigners, so who cares.
'Cops are pigs but US soldiers are just poor little birthday blorbos who had no other choice but to join the genocide machine uwu'

As we watch the Trump admin fly into a capital and abduct/arrest a head of state, it’s worth remembering that he’s frequently called for American governors and mayors to be arrested for their supposed coddling of gangs of narco-terrorists.

This is a threat. He’s threatening her.

This is fucking absurdity.
Next stop on the War Tour:

Trump to Fox: “Claudia Sheinbaum is a good woman, but the cartels are running Mexico.

“She’s not running Mexico — the cartels are running Mexico.

“Something’s going to have to be done with Mexico.”
