You can only dehumanize people so much before they come to see it is you who lacks any humanity. Don't expect kindness or even civility from those you've treated as subhuman.

When men express certain feelings in ways that don’t differentiate them from women, they risk being treated like women by other men: disrespected, dehumanized, even violated. Instead of using this as a path to solidarity with women, most men just cry for system reform that more fully includes them.

Men’s feelings don’t need more space and attention, their feelings need to stop being a special gendered concern entirely. They don’t need more spaces special for Men and their allegedly unique Man feelings. They need to understand them as a common human experience they share in common with women.

OMFG...😮
Way to announce with your whole fucking chest that you misunderstood the point of the movie.
A reminder that one of the reviews of the movie (by a man) declared Carey Mulligan not hot enough to rape, preferring Margot Robbie as the more rapeable option.

Imagine if this had been done to a Charlie Kirk memorial. Immediate FBI and DOJ investigations plus invocation of martial law.

Here is some history on the Emmett Till memorial
All I think about when I hear people say that it’s bad taste to dance on Hulk Hogan’s grave is that Emmett Till’s monument had to be replaced with a 500lb steel bulletproof monument because white people simply won’t stop riddling it with bullets. So now it just has tons of dents. From bullets.

They also did it in Charlottesville. I know a lot of people thought her death would move the political needle but they are just going to call her a race traitor in their little groups just like they did white protesters during the height of the Civil Rights movement. These people love to hate.
This is the kind of thing white supremacists have been doing to Emmett Till’s memorial for decades.

It’s wild to see them do this to a white woman who the entire world saw extrajudicially murdered.
Someone doused Renee Good’s Minneapolis memorial and a nearby pile of wood with gasoline and started a fire at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Thinking about how much we've lost because of hate campaigns against female, POC, LGBTQ ("woke") centered media. Angry, entitled white men have ruined so much in this country.

(Will forever be bitter we didn't get more Acolyte.)

Reminded of the tweet from a guy who ran a support group for men who complained about men poisoning it by turning everything to misogyny. Men in the replies attacked him, presumed him a woman, & demanded men be allowed to turn their spaces into incel retreats.
Totally! No problems with this “cure!” Groups of men talking about their feelings in-person are notoriously free of the radicalizing elements found in online groups of men. This is why all of the problems of men’s violence today started with the invention of the internet.

Another article that could have been decent if the author(s) abandoned their concern for men’s feelings and focused on men’s power instead. But alas here we are with another piece suggesting that things could be fixed if we just didn’t let men get so sad and lonely.

Yeah yeah yeah sure let’s “jump ahead” of the complaints about the lack of explanatory power of our core argument. A one-sentence sneering aside in parentheses should do it. Once you remind people that men are isolated and lonely they don’t read much more anyway because they’re too busy crying.

I don't care about the director & haven't seen her other movies but I've been seeing some criticism of Promising Young Woman, much of the same criticism when it came out, so I'm going to defend it again because it was a frustrating, depressing but useful movie.

Recently binged the Netflix animated Tomb Raider series & thought it was excellent. I saw some comments as I was finishing that it had been canceled. (Fuck you, Netflix.) Looked up to confirm & articles said it was due to poor viewership & negative reception.

Catholicism/Christianity as I’ve experienced it is basically scolding all the way down
February 18, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Because the right (& a lot of liberal/left men accept this framing) consider it feminine when the left shames exploitation or bigotry, so "scolding," while the right's incessant crying is masculine & "just telling it like it is."
I find it frustrating that the left has been characterized as more prone to scolding when the right’s entire culture is built on an openly insidious kind of scolding

I'm not the account for abuse apologists. I stand with victims of domestic violence & sexual abuse, incl ones people find unlikable. Do not bring misogynistic hate campaigns to my page

Imagine still doing that after all the damage anti-MeToo smears have done while we can't get pedophiles prosecuted

If you are wondering what words the all-male Congress found so "blasphemous" that they felt compelled to literally scrape them off the monument, they were: ''Woman, first denied a soul, then called mindless, now arisen, declared herself an entity to be reckoned.''
On this day in 1921, Congress reluctantly accepted a sculpture memorializing women’s 19th A victory. Congress relegated the memorial to the Capitol’s crypt & painted over the feminist inscription. The statue stayed entombed in the crypt for 76 years. The inscription is still not restored. #WeTheMen

Isn't it interesting that the men who complain about men not being appreciated or portrayed positively cheer a man being executed for trying to help a woman? A nurse who cared about his community deserved to die but wah, we don't have enough appreciation of noble men.

These professors and university leaders being cozy with Epstein and even sending female students his way is a disturbing reminder of why sexual violence is rampant on college campuses. It’s a deeply rooted culture and Title IX offices make things worse for victims, not better

What Peter Thiel did to Gawker proved that you can’t have billionaires and a free press at the same time.
i think you can judge how free - or not - our political media is by the fact that elon musk literally did a sieg heil (twice) at a rally and it’s still seen as uncouth and overly partisan (in legacy media) to describe his politics as straightforwardly white supremacist.
