TTRPG designer, known for Heirs of the Leviathan, and a couple of Danish Larps. I like making games that fundamentally change how people interact, be it laughing, cheering, or crying. I also draw.

With a modest influx of followers (hi everyone!), I figured I'd better reintroduce myself:
My name is Henrik, and I'm a Danish TTRPG designer. I've done a bunch of stuff, mostly in the Danish convention scene, but generally they tend to be storygamey.

Revitalizing a Fastaval scenario concept that got rejected years ago, and which is fundamentally untranslateable

Going to the Fastaval writer's weekend today.
Really one of the highlights of the year, a time of feedback, exchange of ideas, and the building of community. Also the organizers do their best, so that you can participate even if you're broke.

BTW, TTRPGs being largely set against an ever encroaching atomization of society shouldn't ever be an invitation to "give up" these spaces. You can play for less hours, or find flexible arrangements, but GET TOGETHER IF YOU CAN. TTRPGs as some of the last spaces of IRL company is worth committing to
Tell 3-4 of your close offline friends, all of whom are presumably working age adults, some of whom may have families on top of jobs, that you want to get together on the weekend for 6-8 uninterrupted hours. Now tell them you want to do that every weekend for an indeterminate amount of time
TTRPG Question of the Day
What do you think keeps more people from playing TTRPGs?
It's be said that TTRPGs are in the spotlight more than ever before. They're referenced frequently in shows. There are movies & TV series based on them. Some have become video games. So why don't more people play?

Why do I care about who's the mayor of some city on the other side of the globe? Because socialism is a global movement damnit, and these days I'll take any win I can get.
Hope the same commie energy is brought to our local elections (which are rather soonish)

And note that he never rejected what some sneeringly refer to as "idpol". Never came close to throwing minorities under the bus. On the contrary. The affordability agenda came hand in hand with him actively standing up for those principles. He could never have mobilised his base like this otherwise.
Zohran's campaign was his determination to make New York a city everyone can afford to live in. Huge congratulations!
His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind.
It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.

The problem with Hard Men is that whenever it turns out that What Needs To Be Done is actually something soft and feminine like giving away free money to buy food, healthcare, housing, etc, the Hard Men simply refuse to Do it and start Hard planning human sacrifices instead.

There is no world where I'm fine but other people are suffering and miserable. Even if we imagine I have no empathy or conscience, if I were smart, I'd know that other people having problems always causes for me. Every time. Guaranteed. Even if I only care about myself, helping others helps me.

Dangerously close to having a print-ready Masks of the Leviathan ready
...except I keep thinking of small revamps that change the game's dynamics, so maybe I'm not close to done at all!

The last time minimum wage was increased was on July 24, 2009, when it rose to $7.25 per hour. You can't even buy a sandwich for this amount anymore. The cost of living has risen approximately 51% since 2009 and they wonder why people are on SNAP?

A "career in game design" is mostly a constant hustle on a tightrope. That you do While working, While parenting, While dealing with health issues, While navigating the world's psychic maelstrom. It's something you do because that is the art you are called to do.
