The bottom half of America? It holds just 6%.

The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns.
The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.

For the first time in my career, I can’t tell people to trust what the CDC website says. And that is an incredibly sad and devastating place for this country to be.
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

David Rose, the police officer and Afghanistan veteran with a wife and 2 small children, was murdered by a white, right wing extremist man a month ago over antivaccine conspiracies pushed by RFK Jr. and this administration. He did not get recognition from political leaders or even much news coverage
"My thoughts turned to David Rose, who volunteered to try to prevent another such attack on our country, and then, when back home, ran toward danger once again to help his fellow Americans."

The 1918 Influenza Epidemic was made significantly worse because Wilson's administration (and the rest of the participants in WWI) deemed reporting on it to be bad for morale. It's called the Spanish Flu because Spanish newspapers were free to publish the truth about the spread and severity. 1/2
Just spoke with my CDC sources.

They said RFK Jr. has ordered officials to hide tuberculosis cases, even as three active TB cases were just reported in Maine. He’s also suppressing bird flu reports.

Pandemics don’t start with viruses they start with secrecy.

RFK Jr. must resign now!

Shame on you, indeed @senangusking.bsky.social. This constituent is deeply, deeply disappointed.
Divine is 35 years old. He has no real legal experience, just GOP appointments: clerked Pryor, then Thomas, then worked for Hawley, then Missouri SG's office. His trivial time actually in court was entirely partisan showboating.

Shame on you, @senangusking.bsky.social.
A curious development today: Sen. Angus King (I-Maine), who caucuses with Democrats + supports abortion rights, voted with Republicans to confirm Trump's anti-abortion court pick Josh Divine to a lifetime federal judgeship.

No comment from his office on why. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

The best way to prevent chronic disease and reduce the burden of chronic diseases is with preventive medicine. This also includes things like mammograms & colonoscopies (just to name 2) that not only prevent cancer but also make cancer far more treatable when it occurs. Eating organic food does not.
