and yes, maybe yoga and Stupid Walks™️ and playlists and whatever get you through it. but there are *miles* of difference between surviving and ✨thriving✨. if you, like me, want to stop living when winter hits, you might need more than to touch grass

ah yes, it's that time of year when everyone has magical hacks for dealing with winter blues. but fam, sometimes your winter blues are *seasonal depression* and you need to talk to a healthcare provider. you can't yoga your way out of depression. anti-depressants are the only thing that work for me.

Beautiful piece for today. An honor to hear their words.

I don’t care whether a politician identifies as “moderate,” “conservative,” “progressive,” or anything. What I care about is whether they faithfully represent citizens rather than donors. And if they don’t up to make health care affordable for all, they aren’t doing that.

Joyce Carol GOAT, honestly, if I was in the receiving end of this, I would have simply passed away.
Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

Plug: This 2026 diary/planner from @versobooks.bsky.social is full of dates & facts from labor & liberation movements.

I managed to make it lie flat on the desk without breaking its spine. I was a little concerned about that, but it passed the test.

It is wonderful. First encountered by me in CHAOS by James Gleick, aka @around.com
I’ve always loved this rather practical application for perceiving the fractal and infinite nature of our universe. The tools we use determine nature’s response. With the right tools, the infinite quality of everything around us is laid bare.

Of course a little over half the people getting SNAP food aid *have jobs*. They just aren't earning enough money to feed their families and pay rent etc too. And many are simply between jobs, are applying for them. And even if the SNAP recipient doesn't work--does that mean we starve their children?
