See, the way that we "work collectively" is by electing people to represent us. Other ways of "working collectively" tend to be more chaotic, and involve guillotines.
I was at an event yesterday where Rand Paul spoke via video and talked about how great it was to send ACA money "directly to the people" so that they could work collectively to get better deals on health care.

Listen, I'd love to say something gourmet, like a really high end whiskey advent calendar, or a properly fancy cheese advent calendar (with a full 24 options, not 12, or 6 choices repeated across 24 boxes). But, if I'm honest, I'm buying a dice advent calendar - but with FANCY dice!

So, I was thinking about this show a month ago - I saw the first couple of episodes, but bounced off. But, I found it on one of the free streaming services, so maybe I'll give it a watch now.
On this day in 1992, The Odyssey premiered on CBC. The show was ahead of its time, with both adults and children enjoying its deep and complex storyline. Acclaimed for much of its run, it won a Gemini.

So, I was thinking about this show a month ago - I saw the first couple of episodes, but bounced off. But, I found it on one of the free streaming services, so maybe I'll give it a watch now.
1/2 Nerds and nerdlings, if you are within an easy drive of Ithaca, you should be at FlagCon*, because it's packed full of neat nerd things, like games, and gamers, and dice, and dice accessories, and leather (!) and all manner of neat and nifty things that you need to experience.

I really don’t understand why it’s so hard for certain people to understand that Mamdani is doing so well because he is advocating for more than “keep Trump from taking the few good and/or semi-decent things that remain” and is articulating a real vision for how to make New York better.

One of the local UU churches just - like, in the past 5 years - fully renovated their kitchen specifically so they can provide meals and other supports to the community. It wasn't cheap or easy, staffing is tough AND they get harassed by the cops when they try to bring food out to homeless folks.
Who's cooking? Where? Who's cleaning up afterward? Where'd the food come from and who bought it? Where'd the money to buy it come from? Where's everybody sitting? Who's replacing the chairs when they break? Who's doing line management? What about all the other stuff the church was doing before?
I don't know why I take this stuff personally but it really infuriates me.
Staffed by who? Funded by what? How are we ensuring food safety?

I read the BBC article trying to explain why the ad misrepresented Reagan's speech, but it only made it clear that the ad effectively conveyed Reagan's speech in a shorter format.

And, if the Collins campaign knew about this ahead of time, they would have sat on it until Platner was running against Collins.
The DNC did not walk Graham Platner into a tattoo parlor and pick out a nazi death head tattoo to adorn his chest for twenty years, or make him post on reddit- i don't know what to tell you folks who think the dnc is the illuminati or effective
