I come with intrinsic entertainment value
Having Florence+theMachine in a town near me during the month of my birth in 2026 proved irresistible. Floor tickets acquired and hotel booked. Happy birthday future me.

On a long road trip with my mom she asked if I ever listened to any music by men because my playlist was basically all women. Funny, today I favourited a song called Music by Men. #EveryBodyScream #FatM

wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

When you’re riding public transit you realize that what’s good for everybody is also good for you. If the bus runs faster, if the train is cleaner, if the AC works, we all benefit

when you’re driving a car, every other car on the road is your personal enemy
The Times parsed the vote using similar categories and again found that the single most determinative factor economic-like factor in the election was "commute by transit" vs "commute by car." It edged out renters vs. homeowners. There's still outstanding data but I expect these trends will hold.

Someone brought up Cheney's denouncement of Trump, but I think that it's interesting that in the end, he was too evil for many to forgive, but not evil enough for the current leaders of his party.

ICE agents are complaining that every time they go out wearing masks in unmarked cars with no uniforms or identification as law enforcement to abduct people, protesters keep dumping pounds of glitter on them so that everyone can tell they're ICE for days afterwards.

If I made the rules I would put a fake David in the front room of the Academia museum and only the people who avoided taking a selfie in front of it would be quietly allowed into a different room to see the real thing.

Honesty America died by rules of decorum that republicans abused and democrats upheld. Truly dumb stuff.

We could shut this whole "antifa is paid" thing down real fast if we'd all commit, as journalists, to asking what antifa means. As in, what the word actually means, what actual words it's a portmanteau for, and what those words mean.

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve.news We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏

One of the biggest losses in the UK has been our newspaper industry. Once the envy of the world, even when Murdoch owned most of it, now 95% is little more than dirt cheap, right-wing ragebait. Hard to believe that The Times was once called "The Thunderer".

"NO CASH ACCEPTED" is a global crisis. I have seen this on three continents now. It's anti-poor, anti-youth, anti-immigrant and pro-surveillance. I had thought it was an American problem, then a Western one, but surveillance capitalism is taking over even the smallest transactions globally.
