the best thing about this show was that it allowed me to be an insufferable early adopter when all the OTHER lesbians discovered Vera Farmiga like 20 years later

she was a formative baby gay crush for both me and my sister

Crazy how nature do that
It has snowed in Chicago and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Time to remind everyone that we light our train tracks on fire to prevent the switches from freezing.

So, let's start off with what I *thought* was going to happen. I don't like to do predictions because I think there's little value in reporters doing that but I think it's good to share for accountability reasons. It also helps for grounding a conversation about what happened.

I did think the dad bloc at the BLM protests who used leaf blowers to blow the tear gas back at the cops were pretty cool.

I am sad to report the death of bluesky. For the first time, complaints about leaf blowers have been met with resistance. This place is a shell of its former self. RIP bluesky, you used to have exclusively cool people, but now there are leaf blower advocates

one thing i am very fuckin' definitely not doing tomorrow is learning where or what dicksville notch is or learning why i should care about how it votes
you are going to watch a bunch of dairy farm weirdos in dixville notch and that other town in nh nobody ever remembers when they vote at midnight. i’m going to wait to watch hamilton county, in, and the miami-dade ev/mail drop. we are not the same

Interestingly, it still responds to my own remote.

I haven't yet gotten into an obvious war with my neighbor, which makes me think my fan is responding to two remotes for some reason and there's does not respond to mine.

I'll get this sorted once I have the energy to bother

I have a remote-controlled ceiling fan in my living room and ever since we had a brief power outage in a storm it's been responding to someone else's remote.

So that's fun.

Oh ffs dammit. Alt text on the quote image "Gov. Tim Walz counters former President Barack Obama's "don't boo, vote" slogan:

"Well hell, I'm just petty enough. Boo and then vote... We can do both! We can multitask.""

God, finally someone running for office said it. I don't want to get into any sort of debate about Obama I just want him to forever stop saying don't boo vote

He's like a dad who told a joke one time that a room of people laughed at and now he tells it at every goddamn party
And he’s right

NYC reaches built and residential densities rarely found in Europe. Only Spanish cities and Paris can really compete (and even then, not at the very highest end of NYC density).
