Funny night of imaging. Grabbed some data for an ongoing project after the clouds cleared and saw Orion just hanging out next to this fir tree (well, 1375 ly behind it).

Dodged a bunch of branches during data collection, but got about a half of hour of descent light on it anyway.

Hubble still got our back whenever we feel overwhelmed! 🔭

This is the NGC-2442 galaxy (~50 million light years away), as seen by Hubble in 2021.

To be honest, I think that this is one of my best processed Hubble image to this day 😊

I've been back many times but this was the first time (2008) I saw the iconic scene of Mount Shuksan reflected in Picture Lake in Washington State. I don't photograph it now usually but I will stop and admire the view while eating lunch.

For my friends in the USA: I like to think the M16 nebula could be a metaphor for the true fabric of the USA. M16 is a large nebula in the shape of a formidable Eagle - at its heart are the famous Pillars of Creation.
Image is 5 hours, (60x5mins stack) on a 130mm refractor, processed in Pixinsight.

Mule Deer - spent this last weekend in Central Oregon where it was very cold. The morning of this shot it was 14F and I think I was getting the “what are YOU doing out here!?” look! More in the thread below… #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #nature #naturephotography #mammals

White-tailed deer blep. It must be rough finding food at this time of year, especially with snow on the ground.

I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up until I had her in my hands, but look who made it to us after all.

Her new name is going to be Winter, in honor of how frickin’ cold it is, and a reminder that it’s always coldest just before a season of beautiful rebirth.
